Known as "Pax River," the Naval Air Station Complex stretches across 25 miles of shoreline at the mouth of the Patuxent River in St. Mary's County. Overlooking the picturesque Chesapeake Bay, Pax River is conveniently located 65 miles southeast of Washington D.C. and 90 miles south of Baltimore. While average temperatures are mild, winter lows can drop down to the 20s and summer highs can reach 95-100 degrees.

Lincoln Military Housing offers 749 homes within six communities serving the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.

With 25 listings in the National Register of Historic Places, St. Mary's County is a treasure trove of colonial history, unspoiled wetlands and historical firsts. Established in 1637, St. Mary's County was the first colony to practice religious tolerance and to establish peaceful relations with the native Indians. As the site of Maryland's first capital, St. Mary's County was also the first community to place an African-American in a governmental position and the site of the first request for women's suffrage.

Several must-see opportunities include the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum and the National Wildlife Visitors Center and Research Refuge. Visit the Riverwalk on Solomon's Island, tour the Drum Point Lighthouse, enjoy a concert at the Calvert Marine Museum, or just kick back and relax at one of the many waterfront dining establishments.
