Welcome to Welsh Road
The Welsh Road Community is one of five in Dahlgren, Virginia. Located on the scenic Potomac River, Welsh Road Homes are available for Senior Enlisted, Junior and Field Grade Officers, and include three to four bedroom units, most with hardwood flooring, fireplaces, screened-in porches, and central air and heating.
Welsh Road is a pet-friendly community with a two-pet maximum. Amenities include playgrounds, basketball courts, walking trails, picnic areas, an aquatics center and a multi-purpose recreation and youth center. Other on-base facilities include a cinema, a bowling alley, library, an exchange and a commissary.
The vibrant town of Fredericksburg is only 45 minutes from base, and offers ample shopping, recreation and dining opportunities.
The renowned Dahlgren School (Pre-K-8th Grade) which is located on base is the only DoD Navy school in the country. To take advantage of this opportunity all students must reside on the installation in Lincoln Military Housing. King George Middle School, and King George High School are located only a short distance from the installation, and the Mary Washington Healthcareand Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is a 45-minute drive from base.
