Little Creek Off & On Base Housing

Located at the northwest corner of Virginia Beach, Little Creek is a small inlet on the southern shore of Chesapeake Bay. It is about midway between Cape Henry and NAVSTA Norfolk in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

Little Creek's mild four-season climate means year=round outdoor recreation. The area sees average yearly high temperatures in the 60s and average lows in the 50s. Summer months tend to be hot and humid, and average yearly rainfall can top 47 inches.

A classic beach town, Virginia Beach itself features miles of beaches, a three-mile long oceanfront boardwalk, and a host of state parks, including Mount Trashmore Park and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. There’s also historic sites such as Cape Henry—the site of the first landing of English colonists bound for Jamestown -- as well as the Adam Thouroughgood House, one of the oldest surviving colonial homes in Virginia.

Nearby Norfolk offers such attractions as the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin and Nauticus—a National Maritime Center with an interactive science and technology focus -- as well as the Mariners' Museum in Newport News.

Other area musts are the Chrysler Museum, Norfolk Botanical Gardens and the Virginia Zoological Park, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, and the Children's Museum of Virginia—the state's largest interactive children's museum and home of the Lancaster Train Collection.
